Los Pelicanos Farm
Los Pelicanos Farm is an 8 acre organic farm in Petaluma, CA. Felix the farmer is passionate about growing beautiful, high-quality summer staples like heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, summer squash, melons, and peppers.
“I started farming on my own. It wasn't easy at first because I had to start from scratch with no machinery and no market to sell to. It was a tough challenge. The first year I rented tractors and equipment to work the land for planting. I did this in the afternoons and on weekends because I had a stable job from Monday to Friday. In my free time, I focused on the farming because I didn't have an employee. Once I found a market to sell to, I had to make deliveries at four in the morning because I had to be at my job at seven. In 2015, I decided to dedicate myself to agriculture, with the idea of increasing production volume.
Regarding the name, it was a bit difficult to decide on one. I came up with 600 names and designs, but none of them convinced me until one day I decided to take an afternoon off to make a name decision. I went to the beach, arrived at a place where there were pelicans and I said this was what I was looking for. I took out my notebook and started designing a logo for the pelicans, that's how the name Pelicanos Farm came about.”
