Mycopia Mushrooms

Founded in 1977, Mycopia Mushrooms is the country’s oldest and largest organic specialty mushroom grower. At farms in Northern California and Western Michigan, Mycopia Mushrooms grows unique varieties of organic specialty mushrooms. Their mushrooms are hand harvested and packed for quality and are grown indoors using sustainable growing practices that allow for year-round production using very little land or water.

Their mushrooms have the allure of wild mushrooms without the seasonality or price fluctuations, hassle of cleaning, or risk of identification. All of their mushroom varieties are packed with savory umami and each has its own flavor profile, texture, and pairing potential. At Mycopia, they pride themselves in their commitments to outstanding quality, their employees and communities, and sustainability.

Mycopia Mushrooms has been partnering with FEED for over 10 years, bringing their fresh mushrooms to local restaurants and retailers throughout the Bay Area.  They value FEED’s model of connecting small local farms & farmers with their communities.

When they started Gourmet Mushrooms in Sebastopol, CA, they were the first to cultivate Shiitake mushrooms in the US, growing just a few hundred pounds a week. While they no longer grow Shiitake, Gourmet Mushrooms grows tens of thousands of pounds of specialty mushrooms each week at their farms in Sonoma County, CA and Mason County, MI. They are proud to provide high quality, nutritious, & delicious mushrooms for your dining table.
