Filigreen Farm

Filigreen is a Demeter-certified Biodynamic and CCOF certified organic diversified farm, producing an array of apple and pear cultivars, stone fruit, quince, persimmons, blueberries, olives, wine and table grapes, vegetables, cut-flowers, and herbs. A year round offering of value-added products include olive oil, everlasting flowers and dried fruit.

Filigreen Farm is situated on 97 acres in Anderson Valley, in the heart of Mendocino County’s Navarro River watershed, lands once inhabited by the Tabahtea (Tah-bah-tay) Pomo First Peoples. Diversity and variety of crops on the farm are a part of the agricultural practices employed at Filigreen.

Also central to Filigreen farming practices is a commitment to ensure that most inputs are sourced on-site. The farm cultivates nutrient sources in a variety of ways, including large scale production of Azolla as a major source of nitrogen. Azolla’s legendary role in sequestering carbon gives added purpose to this year-round cultivation of “the plant that cooled the planet”. Additionally, on-going inquiries into water revitalization and its practical on-farm application are central to the life of the farm.

Velma’s Farm Stand, situated on Anderson Valley Way, serves as conduit to the local community for all Filigreen Farm produce and products. But at the core of Filigreen presence in the world outside Anderson Valley lies FEED Cooperative. From the early days of Tim making the trek in the first delivery van for table grapes and apples, to the now steady stream of trucks for pallet-loads in the height of harvest season, FEED is the medium, the method and the messenger for much of Filigreen production. It's a relationship that has grown much like the growth of a healthy farm organism-slow and steady; year by year.
