Coyote Family Farm

Owner/operator Sonya Perrotti started the farm after a circuitous route through an environmental studies degree at UC Santa Cruz, many volunteer stints on urban and rural farms and gardens, cooking and serving in East Bay restaurants, and work in permaculture landscape design and natural building. A 9-month training program at California Farm Academy in Winters provided momentum and support to launch the farm.

Coyote Family Farm is founded on agroecological growing practices, and became certified organic in spring of 2022. Located on gently sloped land between two watersheds, the land has fertile soil and also abundant rocks ranging from boulders to gravel. This fact was instrumental in the design of the farm as an intensive market garden. Sonya and the farm crew have focused on improving soil and removing rocks on about 2.5 acres.

Coyote Family Farm, in Penngrove, was founded in 2014. It is committed to ecological stewardship of the land, to creating healthy and supportive employment in small-scale agriculture, and to growing the highest-quality organic produce for Sonoma County and the greater Bay Area.

Coyote Family Farm has been selling through FEED since 2017, and became a member of the cooperative in 2022. Being a part of FEED allows CFF to focus on growing crops that work well in their micro-climate and intensive production system, especially fresh herbs, salad crops, and cooking greens.
